There is no direct flight from Western Europe. The route goes through Istanbul: you book a flight to Istanbul (your side), then the Istanbul-Makhachkala (MCX) domestic flight, included in your MKR package, about 2h30 in the air. On arrival, an MKR liaison meets you at the airport and the 1h30 transfer to camp is included.

No, and that is the point everyone underestimates when trying to organise the trip alone. Dagestani gyms work by co-optation: you must be introduced by a coach or a trusted member of the network. Without an invitation, you stay at the door. MKR access is built on the personal network of Ruslan Mukhtarov, born in Dagestan and a former member of the French Olympic wrestling team.

No. Visa and Mastercard cards issued outside Russia work neither in shops nor at ATMs. Bring cash in euros to exchange for rubles on site (our liaisons take you to the exchange office). Since your MKR package covers housing, meals and transport, pocket money stays limited: plan the equivalent of 50 to 100 euros per week for extras.

April to September for the most pleasant climate, but the gyms run all year. MKR organises 4 official sessions per year (summer, autumn, winter, spring). With capacity capped at 15 spots per discipline, the real constraint is availability more than weather.
